Public safety is the foundation of stronger and safer communities.
Our vision is to bring people together, connecting law enforcement
and citizens to impact the national conversation on enforcement
in a dynamic way.

Join UCOPS

Be part of a unified voice working to bridge the gap between law enforcement officers and the communities they serve.

The United Coalition of Public Safety (UCOPS) is a non-partisan organization representing more than 60,000 law enforcement officers nationwide.

UCOPS works on behalf of law enforcement officers and the communities they serve to build stronger partnerships, break down communication barriers, and strengthen public trust through active engagement, honest dialogue, education, and outreach.

  1. UCOPS Amplifies Your Voice nationally. UCOPS is focused on creating a national brand to educate the public about what police really do. We are building the communications infrastructure to better defend our members, push back on false narratives, and amplify the work being done by police unions across the country. That means leveraging our social media presence, sharing content more effectively, using the new UCOPS Podcast, and giving you access to national media when major incidents or policy fights arise in your jurisdiction.
  2.  UCOPS member network gives you access to law enforcement unions across the country. From New York to California, our reach spans across the nation. If you’re traveling or simply need something anywhere in the nation, we provide you the contacts. Our member units always roll out the red carpet for each other. In addition to our monthly virtual meetings, our meetings are held in a variety of locations nationally; an in-person meeting will be held by our member unit in Hawaii (SHOPO) this year.
  3.  UCOPS combines the power of many police unions rather than standing alone. When police departments across the country were placed under unfair consent decrees, UCOPS didn’t just lobby elected officials. Instead, we used our collective power to expose them as the scam they are. UCOPS employed a top-tier firm to embark on a strategic campaign. We gave the Trump administration the facts and political capital it needed to rescind many of them. Not only were consent decrees removed in places like Seattle and Suffolk, but we helped make sure this grift isn’t repeated.
  4.  Politics equals power and together we have more of it. Many of our unions have PACs and Super PACs. Whether it’s a Soros-funded DA in California or an anti-union candidate funded by the Koch brothers in Florida, what happens in one state affects the rest. UCOPS members can call on each other for the fights that matter and stop problems before they spread across the nation.
  5.  UCOPS value grows with every new member. In a nation where anyone is free to say anything, it matters who has the loudspeakers. Join your voice to ours by filling out our membership application and together we will turn that voice into action.
